GASA Germany’s Autumn Fair 2011 was a Total Success
More than 1300 different autumn plants on around 750 CC containers enticed our customers to Kevelaer between August 22 and 25. Innumerable varieties of Erica and Calluna, gorgeous garden centre plants for the autumn, pumpkins and perennials were met with great interest – and were well received by the visitors. All in all GASA Germany’s Autumn Fair was a great success which predicts a flying start of the first phases of a successful autumn season 2011.
Celebration of the New Calluna Gardengirl Variety Silvana.
On 23rd August in the evening the fair was predominated by Gardengirls: or to put it precisely: one certain Gardengirl. Johannes van Leuven from the van Leuven nursery in Geldern-Lüllingen has put the first Calluna variety with silver-coloured leaves into production. Silvia Wilmanska-Leffers from the nursery Westerstede-Hollwege was godmother and ran the naming ceremony with a glass of sekt in the attendance of more than 70 Calluna producers, interested visitors as well as many colleagues from GASA Germany. Likewise, Kurt Kramer, Heidezüchtung Kramer i Edewecht, was happy to become a new member of his Gardengirl family.
Workshop at GASA Germany
”On the Way to New Horizons with the Heath & co.” GASA Germany’s first workshop was characterised by innovation, motivation as well as by the plants of the heath. On Wednesday 24th August 15 international participants from the garden centre business learned all about the successful arrangement of sales spots as well as about presentation of the products. Antje Verstl from the Dendron Academy in Leipzig was in charge of the workshop and taught the participants how to put themselves in the customers’ place. Focus was on the practical exercises and the joint configuration of a sales spot was very much admired by the workshop participants as well as by the fair visitors.
