Young Plants - a flourishing success
Sales of young plants and the development of exciting new varieties are showing fine growth. GASA Young Plants is leading the way and is a flourishing success.
With an annual turnover exceeding EUR 26 million and a stock of around 200 million plants, GASA Young Plants is one of the major players in terms of trade in cuttings, young plants, seeds, tubers and other semi products. 40 percent of sales are to the Danish market and 60 percent to Norway, Sweden, Germany, the UK and France.
New opportunities for growth
GASA Young Plants is untiring in its hunt for exciting new cultures and varieties. “We are constantly on the look-out for
new possibilities,” says Allan Bech Olesen, Sales Manager at GASA Young Plants.
One of the initiatives for breeding is DANBLOOM, a joint venture with Carlsberg, with the objective of working together with Danish producers on developing new varieties and cultures. DANBLOOM is based at Carlsberg’s research centre, giving access to modern facilities and expert knowledge within biotechnology.
Plants from around the world
GASA Young Plants is also a growth success itself. Sales of young plants started up in 1975 and the workforce has grown steadily, from three employees in the beginning to around 30 today. The staff in the sales department specialise in different
plant cultures and countries.
Every day we are in contact with nurseries and leading producers from all over the world, e.g. across Europe, as well as China, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Togo, Costa Rica and Guatemala. Thanks to our large network we are constantly finding exciting new products from home and abroad.
